A True Heart’s Storm

Raindrops splatter
Against my window
Like a bucket of tilted paint.
Lightning glimmers
Like the diamonds
Of an heiress
Lighting up
The sky
And placing fear
In the hearts of those who should beware .
I am scared
Not because
Of the intensity
Or the volume
Or uproar
But because I am
Without you
The thought itself kills me,
The reality a murder.
